FOUNDING SPEECH/LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST
Deborah I. Ross, M.A., CCC-SLP
Ms. Ross was educated in Speech/Language Pathology
(SLP) at the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of Kansas. She is a licensed Speech/Language Pathologist in the state of California. She has earned the
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) awarded by the American Speech/Language Hearing Association (ASHA). She has been practicing since 1995.  Her clients have been ages 0-107. Ms. Ross has practiced in homes, schools, hospitals
and private-clinic settings with a variety of diagnoses. She is an experienced lecturer, educator, mentor, and community resource in Speech Pathology. Ms. Ross has authored a variety of
articles and educational tools. She is the recipient of the American Speech/Language Hearing Association Award for Continuing Education (ASHA ACE Award). She strongly believes in
exceeding the standards in her profession for continuing education.
The state of California invited Ms.
Ross to serve as Subject-Matter Expert in 2004. In 2008, ASHA recognized Ms. Ross as a national clinical expert by appointing her to a 2008 ASHA national committee for ASHA
credentialing. She is a current national mentor Level III for PeopleFirst Rehab in the areas of cognitive-linguistic deficits, swallowing, medically complex patients, and neurologic
disorders.

improve the quality of life for people of all ages and their loved ones. San Diego Speech Therapy provides education, expert assessment, skills training, and consultation to minimize or
eliminate the potentially devastating effects of communication and swallowing disorders.
Early in her
career, Ms. Ross had the opportunity to work in homeless and battered women's shelters with children needing speech and language services. A portion of all proceeds from
San Diego Speech Therapy supports donated speech therapy services for abused and neglected children in our region. San Diego Speech Therapy is the means to support her belief in making a difference in our
community one person at a time.
