People diagnosed with Parkinson Disease or other neurological disorders which affect the voice and speech will benefit from our certified Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) therapy program. We also work with patients diagnosed with vocal nodules, and with patients who have undergone a laryngectomy due to cancer or trauma to the larynx.

Speech Strokes, head injuries, surgery to the head and neck and other medical issues can change your speech patterns and make your speech difficult to understand (especially over the phone). We have a variety of approaches for improving your speech, all of which involve practice at home in-between sessions to promote the most permanent change and most efficient recovery of your speech skills. Sometimes speech cannot be fully restored, but the lasting effects can often be compensated for by learning strategies taught by your Speech/Language Pathologist.
Language Aphasia is a common symptom noted after some kinds of strokes. We can assist your recovery by providing individualized and intensive therapy as well as designing communication strategies to help compensate for permanent loss and while you work to regain skills. We also work with foreign-language speakers who wish to improve their mastery of standard American English grammar.
Cognitive-Linguistic Issues These issues include difficulty concentrating in the presence of distractions, short-term memory loss, difficulty planning, sequencing, executing actions during your daily tasks and may result from neurosurgery, head injury, stroke, early-onset dementia, anoxia from respiratory failure, etc.
Our therapy can assist you in designing strategies, making environmental modifications, and completing skills acquisition tasks.
